Yorgelis Salazar, born on November 10, 1997, is a Venezuelan karateka. She achieved notable success in international competitions. In the 2022 World Games held in Birmingham, United States, Salazar secured the silver medal in the women's 50 kg event. Furthermore, at the 2023 World Karate Championships in Budapest, Hungary, she earned one of the bronze medals in the women's 50 kg category. Salazar's accomplishments highlight her skill and prowess in the sport of karate on the global stage.


In June 2021, Yorgelis Salazar participated in the World Olympic Qualification Tournament in Paris, France, with the aim of securing a spot in the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. Unfortunately, she was eliminated in her second match, facing Jana Messerschmidt from Germany. Later, in November 2021, Salazar faced an early exit in her first match during the women's 50 kg event at the World Karate Championships in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Moving on to her achievements, Salazar claimed the silver medal in the women's 50 kg event at the 2022 Bolivarian Games held in Valledupar, Colombia. Additionally, she secured another silver medal in the women's team kumite event. In 2023, she added to her accolades by winning one of the bronze medals in the women's 50 kg event at the World Karate Championships in Budapest, Hungary. Notably, she emerged victorious against Aika Okazaki of Japan in her bronze medal match.


Continuing her success, Salazar went on to win the gold medal in her event at the 2023 Pan American Games held in Santiago, Chile, just a week after her triumph at the World Karate Championships in Budapest.
